What Are Sequences?

Sequences are automated, multi-step outreach campaigns that send email or SMS messages to your contacts over time. Once you set up a sequence and link it to a Smart List, Parallel AI handles the scheduling and delivery automatically. Use sequences to:

Drip campaigns — nurture new leads with a series of educational or promotional messages spread over days or weeks
Follow-up flows — automatically follow up with prospects who haven’t responded to an initial outreach
Cold outreach — launch high-volume, personalized email or SMS campaigns to new audiences at scale
Onboarding sequences — guide new users through setup steps with timely, contextual messages

Sequences work hand-in-hand with Smart Lists. When a new contact is added to a linked list — whether manually or by an agent — they automatically enter the sequence.

How Sequences Work

Create a sequence

Define your sequence with a name, channel (email or SMS), and a description of its purpose.

Add steps

Build out the sequence steps — each step includes a message template and a delay (e.g., send immediately, then wait 2 days, then send again).

Link to a Smart List

Connect the sequence to a Smart List. New contacts added to that list will automatically enter the sequence.

Activate

Set the sequence to active. Parallel AI will begin enrolling contacts and delivering messages on schedule.

Linking a Sequence to a Smart List

Sequences are most powerful when paired with a Smart List. As contacts are added to the list (manually or via agent capture), they automatically enroll in any linked sequences.

Pagination
