What Is a Marketing Campaign?
A marketing campaign is a one-time broadcast email sent from a sender profile to the contacts on one Smart List. It’s the right tool when you want to send one message to many people at once. How it differs from other features:- Marketing Campaign — one email, sent to a whole list, once. Best for newsletters and announcements.
- Sequence — a multi-step, per-person workflow (email, LinkedIn, SMS, and more) with delays between steps. Best for outreach that follows up over time.
- Content Engine — creates the content itself; it doesn’t send bulk email.
Creating a Campaign
- Select your company from the sidebar
- Click Marketing Campaigns (under Engage)
- On the Campaigns tab, click New Campaign
- Fill in the details:
- Campaign Name — internal label; recipients never see it
- Subject — the email subject line
- Sender Profile — who the email comes from (required)
- From Name and Reply-To — optional overrides
- Smart List — the audience for this campaign
- Advanced → Email field — pick which list column holds the email address (auto-detected in most cases)
- Build the email body:
- Visual Builder — a drag-and-drop email editor
- or the HTML editor for a WYSIWYG experience
- Choose when to send:
- Send Now — begins sending immediately
- Schedule for Later — pick a date, time, and timezone
- (Optional) set per-day send windows so email only goes out during chosen hours
- (Recommended) Send yourself a test first to check formatting and links
- Click Save, Save & Schedule, or Save & Send Now
Sender tip: For bulk sending, use a dedicated sending profile (such as one backed by a high-volume email service). Personal inbox profiles work but show a warning — they aren’t built for large sends.
Using Templates
Reuse a proven layout instead of starting from scratch:- Open the Templates tab and click New Template
- Build the template like a campaign, marking where per-campaign content goes
- To use it, click From Template on the Campaigns tab, pick a template, and continue — the form pre-fills with the template’s content and settings
Campaign Statuses
Sends are paced automatically so your campaign goes out at a steady rate rather than all at once. Recipients are captured from the list when sending begins, so later changes to the list don’t affect a campaign already in flight.
Tracking Performance
Open a campaign to see its results, and use the metrics bar for an at-a-glance view across all campaigns:
The campaign detail view also includes a per-recipient table (search by email) and a timeline of sends, opens, and clicks.
How It Connects
- Smart Lists — every campaign targets one list; build and enrich it first
- Enrichment — fill in missing emails before you send
- Integrations — sending profiles are backed by your connected email services
